Count Your Blessings . . .

..."Can't Buy Me Love" . . .

by Ross Vick

DALLAS--As we ponder our future and fear the pink slip, every once in a while we find something that gives us just enough hope to move forward. Singer Songwriter Ross Vick got just such a nugget from a fan. The woman emailed to say that her husband had been in a funk lately. He heard "The Road" driving to work one day and the song helped him rearrange his priorities for the days that followed. For one brief moment, his life was made better because of that song, played at that moment in time.

Singer Songwriters live for those moments. When The Beatles sang the song "Can't Buy Me Love" that's what they were talking about.

Looking for the good and the positive in an honest way is the best road to follow in times of challenge. When you find the good, etch it in your heart; let the bad wash away like letters in the sand on the beach.

Ross is working on a new album, a collection of tunes written the wake of his success with his single release "The Road" to the Adult Contemporary radio market. The new songs deal with life and love in the context of heightened expectations and the often frustating moments that follow. One new song in the collection is "Funny." The opening lyric allows a glimpse into the current economic tempest:

FUNNY by Ross Vick (used by permission) "If it wasn't all so sad it would be funny; people going mad 'cause they lost their money. Their mis placed worth, became their curse, and now the window ledge becomes their hedge should it get worse. . . "

So look somewhere else besides your financial portfolio for your blessings--they are there and they will get you through these times of turmoil.
